Societatea Astronomică Română de Meteori (SARM) și Astro Travels (Ovidiu Văduvescu) organizează a 6-a expediție românească în insulele Canare, în perioada 28 iunie – 10 iulie 2016. Programul este unul complex și include vizitarea insulelor Gran Canaria (pentru prima dată, cu vestitele dune de nisip), La Palma (cu peisaje spectaculoase extrem de diversificate, Complexul Astronomic Nord European “Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos” și cel mai mare telescop optic din lume) și insula Tenerife cu urcare pe vulcanul Teide la 3718 m alt. Se vor organiza sesiunii de observații și astrofotografie, pe marginea căldării vulcanice, cerul din La Palma fiind extrem de întunecat, iar zona sudică, cea mai spectaculoasă, a Căii Lactee va fi la înălțime maximă, foarte sus pe cer în Canare.
