De exemplu cinev zice că : Based on NASA photos ( Hubble Wide Field Photo ) the region of the ring just to left of Enke Gap is clearly darker than the portion of the ring left of center. So it appears to be a little of both at work...part perception, part real. In the attached photo, I took a small circle of the region between where the two dots are. So the two dots in my photo are that central darker region commonly observed as the Enke Minima. Sure enough this central part of the A Ring is darker than the left of center and also darker than the brightening just to the right of Cassini that you mentioned. The region to the right of the Enke Gap though appears to be the same brightness. Based on this photo I would suggest that the Enke Gap, even though not visible when only the Minima is resolved, is probably a contributing factor to the visual perception of the Minima. So the Enke Gap together with the much lighter inner portion of the A Ring near Cassini, gives this impression. So the Minima definitely starts mid A-Ring, but never brightens again.
