Tudor,

aseara in jurul orei 10 am iesit putin sa observ luna si Jupiter.

Equipment used: SkyWatcher Quattro 10" Carbon fiber, SkyWatcher AZ-EQ6 GT, TeleVue Powermate 4x, TeleVue Nagler 17 type 4, SkyWatcher F4 GPU coma corrector, SkyWatcher PowerTank
Focal length 4m, aperture 25cm, F16 focal ratio
Location: edge of Podu Olt village 15km from Brasov city, bortle scale 5.
Small objects are the early focus of the night, starting at 10pm after setting up
Eskimo nebula
low on horizon, looks like a tiny globular cluster or a very small galaxy, round shape, a condensed owl nebula look alike
M5 globular cluster
Almost fills the entire field of view
At least 25 stars visible
Hercules cluster
What a gem! Even brighter than M5, around 50 stars
Bode's nebula
Clearly a galaxy, bigger than Eskimo, smaller than Hercules, and fuzzier, no structure in arms
Whirlpool galaxy collision
At zenith. Companion clearly visible, core of whirl brighter and larger than companion, cannot see structure at all, no arms, just core
Cigar galaxy
A pleasant surprise, specific elongated form, unexpectedly bright, some structure almost visible with periferic vision
Ghost of Jupiter planetary nebula
Too low to be a treat but clearly visible especially being @ around 15deg high in the direction of the light pollution.
Looks very similar to Eskimo.
Sunflower galaxy
High at zenith, visible but under expectations, no structure and core almost like the companion of whirlpool
Sombrero galaxy
Like sunflower under expectations, barely barely visible structure
Black eye galaxy
Slightly brighter and bigger than sunflower, similar shape and a hint of structure in the core
Ring planetary nebula
A delight! Clear form of donut, center has the brightness of the galaxies seen before, outer edge is brighter, similar to Hercules. Tiny star accompanies the ring in the lower right, close to the donut.
Cat's eye nebula
Surprisingly bright! Brighter than ring but more condensed and small, a tiny planet look alike but in oval shape. No inner structure visible...
Spindle galaxy
Quite low at around 20 deg, a tiny patch of fuzzy light barely visible, struggled to distinguish shape, but seems to be a lenticular ?? Really hard to tell
The lonely planet of the night - Jupiter
After those hard to see patches of light from before this almost hurts my eye,
I cal clearly see the tropical belts, GRS and southern belt, I could really use more contrast, filtering or better mirrors?
Adding the cap with it's 50mm open makes the brightness realul drop and contrast îs a bit better, details in the belts and even GRS now really pop, I notice GRS moved towards the center of the planet so rotation still works. This must get more attention... too bad the satellites are all far away from the planet, this could have been a blast if I got a transit, the seeing is quite good.
It's now almost midnight, the chill of the night got deep into my bones and I must go inside for a few minutes. I made a damn good thing making a small chair for my little daughter, it proved very useful with this setup as most targets make me bend uncomfortably.
Back at Jupiter:
Seeing got a bit sharper, planet rotated GRS to the middle, a treat at F80.
Some double stars:
Zeta lyr
clearly split, can easily fit Jupiter between the double
Xi boo
A tougher client but still easy managed, could fit Ganymede between
Rasalgethi
Similar to perilous separation but beautiful coloring and brigher stars. Brightest is yellow and partner slightly blue.
Porrima
The closest double I've seen so far, I can call it split but barely, if I put the cap on and get to F80 I see the diffraction patterns intersect but a clear split!
Polaris
Having the cap on from porrima I initially thought this is not split but the brigtness of the polaris B prevents seeing at F80. Back to F16 shows a different matter, easily split, Saturn could fit well in that space at this FoV.
Mizar
Pfft... rly... an easy one, 2 bluish sisters
Albireo
Chromatically one of the finest, clear separation
Epsilon lyr1 and 2
Both just barely separated, almost as hard as porrima, if I drew a line between each of the doubles, the 2 resulting lines would be near perpendicular. Chromatically similar, brightness similar, a very original sight
Dumbell
By now dumbbell is high enough, pointed to it and wow, the fov is almost filled with the milky light, no structure, oval shape. Being almost time for retreat I decided to take a chance at F4, removing the powermate. Our own galaxy invaded my eye with stars, dumbell gained brightness and really popped in the dark background littered with tiny shiny stars.
Arround 1 o'clock, sleep and cold won the battle.
Overall a superb evening, no mosquitos, just some pollen and light dew, didn't even start my dewnot.
